From a series using orphaned photographs as inspiration. I have created narratives about these people to give them a new identity – so they are no longer "lost" but are now "found."
Her name is Muriel Hotchkiss but her friends call her Mae. She is a “career girl” - a secretary at the insurance agency downtown. Mae types 100 words a minute and is “crackerjack” at organization. She called in sick today – everybody knows she’s not sick, but nobody really minds. Mae just got engaged to Arnold. They will be married next spring. Arnold is the one who took this picture. Right before he clicked the shutter, Arnold told Mae a joke, which made her laugh. He loves to make her laugh.
