My work is about remembering and forgetting, and about layers of memory and the passage of time. I find the luminosity and materiality of encaustic very satisfying.

My process is meandering and elliptical. I often work on 3 or 4 or 5 paintings at once, sometimes with long breaks before completion. My work often takes me to places I didn’t know I was going – down blind alleys and dark hallways and often into deep, deep holes! It is an ongoing adventure in my life.
